MIRRORLIAR FILMS is a short film production project that aims to nurture and discover creators. 36 short films directed by actors, film directors, manga artists and musicians were released in Season 1 to 4 in 2021-22.
In Seasons 5-8, which will be released sequentially from spring 2024, each season will be based in a different region and run as a regional promotion and education project, utilising the Japanese tax incentive program that encourages companies to donate to local governments for tax credit. The aim of this public-participation project is to bring as many people as possible into contact with filmmaking, with a public-private executive committee, production and screening with citizen participation, and film production workshops for students and citizens.
